The story behind

Hey there! I'm Tomas Slavinskas, founder and CEO of Wozber.

It all started in 2013 when I graduated the university and was looking for a job. Without investing too much of my time, I wrote a standard CV and sent it to all local companies that had any open job positions in my field.

Two weeks went by, and sadly enough I received no reply. Not even a single one.

There could be many reasons for this failure. Not enough of work experience would probably be the most common one, yet taking too much of time to overcome. However, after some research I figured that there was one thing I could make better rather quickly - it was my CV.

To restart my job search, I picked up top 10 companies that I found most interesting. I rewrote my generic CV to each one of them as a targeted resume accompanied by a dedicated cover letter. Each document was explicitly written for a matching job position, highlighting experience and skills that companies were looking for. It was a troublesome process since I was using Photoshop to make my resume more beautiful. After a lot of editing and moving content around, I successfully finished my second batch of resumes.

Within a week after sending out the job applications, eight from ten companies invited me for a talk. Six of them offered me a job. And only in three weeks after restarting my job search, I started working at my chosen company.

I spent almost two years gaining experience in corporate and startup environments, being able to replicate my initial job hunt success every time.

After sharing experiences with my friends and colleagues, I realized that too many of talented people are missing excellent opportunities just as I once did. The problem is that people don't know how to show what companies are looking for in them. When the time comes for a job search, they usually write generic resumes without putting enough effort into making them relevant. However, what everyone should realize is that resume has to be a selling advertisement for a specific employer.

This problem begged for a smart and easy solution.

I wanted to share my job hunt success, so I started working on a tool that every job seeker could benefit from. A tool that would focus on what to write and how to write it to create the best resume and cover letter, leading to a job that one would really want to land.

This is how Wozber was born.

Going forward, Deividas Graužinis joined Wozber on the mission. Now together, we're working day and night to deliver you the best possible solutions, making your job hunt easy and pleasant experience.
